Livorno, a unique gem in Tuscany still unveiled. A vibrant town to discover day by day, with its multiculturalism that collects different religions (Anglican, Jewish, Orthodox and Catholic); suggestive canals, the Fossi Medicei, surrounding the city center, that you may fully enjoy on a boat trip; the Old Venice historical quarter, rich of pubs and restaurants; a charming promenade on the beautiful Terrazza Mascagni overlooking the seaside. Livorno for Sport: fencing, surf, kitesurf, marathon, soccer, baseball, rugby, tennis and many others that you may learn and play, meet their professionals or enjoy the dedicated events. Perfect also as a base to start visiting small villages and towns in Tuscany like: Quercianella, Castiglioncello, Vada, Pisa, Viareggio, Lucca, Firenze e Bolgheri.

To me there is something simply mesmerizing about the colors and forms of that mysterious world underwater. The Livorno Aquarium is a great venue for all ages, with a diverse itinerary of fish, archaeological explorations and now they even have an area dedicated to reptiles and more. Cacciucco, the "C5"

This is not a place but it is still an institution
Yes, Livorno even has some “not to be missed" culinary traditions... I know Italians who will do the long haul out to the coast just to eat a plate of authentic cacciucco (the C5 stands for the 5 letter Cs in the word cacciucco - the only Italian word to have 5 letter c's).

La torta di ceci (chickpeases Cake) and the "5&5"

If, while wandering around the streets of Livorno, you come across a shop sign that says "Pizza e Torta", stop and go in, and try Livorno's famous Torta di Ceci (a kind of savoury pancake made from chickpea flour). In tasting this delicious local delicacy you will also be gaining an insight into the essence of Livorno, where simple and genuine things - like Torta di Ceci - are what counts.

“Il Ponce”

Typically Hot Drink
The port of Livorno had already become the gateway to and an emporium in the Medici's Grand Duchy of Tuscany when, one morning in 1614, a Saracen felucca docked there, laden with coffee and barrels of rum.
